Honda Safety Caravan 13-14 May 2549

The owner of the Honda dealership that I bought my motorcycle from invited me to go on their annual Honda Safety Caravan. Every year, about 150-300 members from each of the 14 southern provinces caravan to basque in the greatness of the AP Honda Coorporation (This year there were 3,800 people). Actually, Honda's thing is to promote a family environment. It's pretty interesting. If it were a church, it would be HUGE!!!! This year, the caravan met in Phuket - about three hours by motorcycle from where I live. We played all kinds of games, there were competitions, prizes, motorcycle races and a concert by one of Thailands coolest bands, Paradox. It was a lot of fun, and I was able to get to know a lot of new people from here in Takuapa and all over the southern part of Thailand. I can tell I am getting old, however, because I didn't stay for much of the concert (it was too loud). hahaha Big Baby! Foundations were built for future ministry, especially with Birl, one of the staff members at the dealership that I have been building a friendship with since before I bought the motorcycle. On this trip, she shared some very personal things with me and asked for counsel on some issues.

Koh Kho Khaew 25 April 2006 (2549)

Duang Prateep Foundation invited me to join them on a trip to Koh Kho Khaew. We went with a local fisherman family, and had a lot of fun. They took us to a very remote part of Koh Kho Khaew island and then to two other small islands around there. I helped interpret with a team of foreign visitors who had done some activities with Duang Prateep Foundation earlier this week. I was able to share Jesus with some of them. :D It was a lot of fun, but boy am I sunburned - even though I wore SPF 50)!

Accident April 15 2006 (2549)

Hey all. Well, I have some good news and some bad news. The Good news is that I am OK. And the other news is that I was in an auto accident. I was on my way up to Prajinburi to spend a few days with a friend and her family for Songkran. Kheb and I were riding in a public van, and were almost to our destination, when a young man driving a big truck decided to hit us head on. Actually, he didn't decide anything much because he was drunk, sleep deprived and asleep at the wheel at 15:00 in the afternoon!!!! Except for some bumps and bruises, all is well. Just glad to be home in the south again and back to normal. In the future, I think it will take a lot to get me to travel during the Songkran Festival! Cheerio!
